Eine 8:30 Min Reportage mit einem Fahrzeug, das die Autostadt gekauft hat.

Die Scheinwerferblenden sind leider nicht Original, sie sind viel zu groß und sehen plump aus.

Es wird die Geschichte erzählt, dass eine Zulassung in Europa wegen der zu niedrigen Scheinwerfer nicht möglich war. Heute ist die Mindesthöhe der Scheinwerferunterkante 50cm, was beim SP2 deutlich unterschritten wird. Ich habe aber Informationen von einem damals Verantwortlichen, dass die Zulassung für Europa vorbereitet war, aber von VW nicht mehr gewünscht war. Wir werden die wahren Details nicht mehr erfahren.

Unfortunately the headlight covers are not original, they are much too big and look clumsy.

The story is told that a registration in Europe was not possible because the headlights were too low. Today the required minimum height of the lower edge of the headlights is 50cm, which is significantly undercut by the SP2. But I have information from a person in charge at that time that the approval for Europe was prepared, but was no longer desired by VW. We will not find out the real details anymore.

Bei Firma Rudat und Wollenberg aus Wetter gibt es jede Menge Teile aus der ehemaligen CKD-Fertigung des vw SP2 aus Nigeria.

Man findet Rudat auch gut auf dem deutschen ebay.

Der Ventura - Nachkomme des VW SP2

Es klingt unglaublich, aber es gab in Brasilien ein Kunststofffahrzeug, das den vw SP2 als Grundlage verwendet hat. Die Fahrzeuge wurden auch nach USA verkauft, als Bausatz.

Das Chassis, der Motor, die Türrahmen, die Glasscheiben, die Struktur der Heckklappe, die Kontur der Motorhaube, alles wurde vom SP2 verwendet.

Und schaut man unter die Hauben findet man auch die Karosseriestruktur vom SP2.

Der vw SP2 hat nach dem Produktionsstopp in 1976 in der Form des Ventura noch 15 Jahre weiter bestanden !

It sounds incredible, but there was a plastic car in Brazil that used the vw SP2 as a basis. The cars were also sold to the USA, as a kit.
The chassis, the engine, the door frames, the glass panels, the structure of the tailgate, the contour of the bonnet, everything was used by the SP2.

And if you look under the bonnet you will find the body structure of the SP2.
